William Stanley Ewart

William Stanley Ewart of Rothesay, husband of Rosalie (Connolly) Ewart, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at his residence. Born at Saint John on October 29, 1938, he was a son of the late Stanley and Anita (Crawford) Ewart. William was in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1957 until 1960, and also worked as a meat cutter at Canada Packers, but mostly worked at Saint John Shipbuilding as a pipefitter until his retirement in 1996. He was also the chief cook for the sea trials on the ships built at Saint John Shipbuilding.

William loved to travel and had traveled extensively all over the world. He loved going to the gym, mostly to socialize and brag about how at 70 years old he could still bench press more than 250 pounds.

In addition to his wife, William will be sadly missed by his children, Keith Ewart, Stephen Ewart (April), Jeffrey Ewart (Cheri), and David Ewart (Christine); brothers Gary and Brian Ewart; sisters Lorraine, Sandra, Anita Jean, Sharon, Debra, Anne, and Kim; grandchildren Billy, Brent, Andrew, Matthew, Katie, Jillian, Emma, Alex, Ben, Ian, Grace, and Jane; and several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, John Ryan.

In addition to his parents, William was predeceased by a sister Heather and her daughter, Shannon.

Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119), with visiting on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 12:30 PM from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
